Field Walker can now guide you to a spot on your property — tap a point on the map or pick a pin, and follow the live arrow and distance readout until you're standing on it.
Field Walker now lets you navigate directly to any pin or any spot you tap on the map: you’ll see a live direction arrow + distance + compass bearing and can change the target by tapping somewhere else.
You can also start navigation from a pin’s details (“Navigate to pin”), and tap pin markers to view details without leaving Field Walker. When you’re within a few metres, the readout switches to “You’re here.”
Behind the scenes, zoom buttons no longer trigger map taps (in Field Walker and Contour Walker), and there were infrastructure/build updates to improve release reliability.
Navigate to a pin or point in Field Walker
- Tap the map to set a target. In Field Walker, tap anywhere on the map and a readout appears showing the direction arrow, distance and compass bearing to that point. Tap somewhere else to change the target.
- Navigate to a pin. Open any pin from the pin list and choose Navigate to pin — Field Walker opens already guiding you to it.
- Tap a pin marker on the map to open its details without leaving Field Walker.
- "You're here." When you're within a few metres of the target the readout switches to You're here, so you know you've arrived. Close the readout with × when you're done.
- Compass now works in Field Walker. Heading-up mode turns the map with you as you walk; on iPhone and iPad you'll be asked once to allow compass access.
Behind the scenes
- Zoom buttons on the live map no longer count as a map tap, in both Field Walker and Contour Walker.
- Build and test infrastructure updates to keep releases flowing reliably.
